Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my child is eligible for this program? Most likely, your child is eligible because you received this information, but you can check with the school office to be sure.
How do I enroll my child for the FACE Program? You should have received enrollment information with this brochure. Check with the school office if you are not sure.
Will my child’s regular classroom teacher be the teacher for the FACE after-school program? It’s possible your child may have his/her classroom teacher. However, in most cases, the teacher in the after-school program will be another teacher from your child’s school.
How often will my child meet for this program? The daily and weekly schedule will be determined by FACE and the after-school teacher. The program includes 40 hours of after-school instruction throughout the school year.
How many students will be in the after-school sessions with my child? The program is designed to have 12 children with each after-school teacher.
What subjects are included in the FACE program? The program includes instruction in reading and math using the SideStreets reading and math materials.
Is transportation provided? Your child will go to school as he/she usually does. Following the after-school session, transportation is the parent’s responsibility.
How will I know how my child is doing? Your child’s after-school teacher will provide you with regular progress reports.
