SAIL for Experienced Administrators

The SAIL for Experienced Administrators program is a two-year professional development program which includes a comprehensive assessment center. Face-to-face or completely online delivery modes are available. The modules address the key skills and competencies a successful instructional leader must possess to ensure the academic achievement of each student. The assessments identify participant's strengths and weaknesses, as well as the gaps among staff, supervisor, and participant's perceptions and actuality.

Year One

Institute/Module 1: Managerial Leadership

Time Management and Organization; Theories of Leadership/Leading School Reform

Institute/Module 2: School Leadership

Style; Decision Making; Motivation and Communication; Building Leadership Teams; Ethics and Professionalism

Institute/Module 3: Instructional Leadership

Vision and Culture; Classroom Visitations; Teaching and Learning; Professional Development and Accountability; Professional Learning Community

Institute/Module 4: Leadership for School Improvement-Introduction

Process; Accountability; Data-Based Decision Making; Action Research

Year Two:

Institute/Module 5: Data-Driven Decision Making

Culture for Using Data; Balanced Assessment; Data-informed Decision Making for School Improvement

Institute/Module 6: Continuous Instructional Improvement

Data-driven Lesson Design; Data Teams; Leadership for School Improvement

Institute/Module 7: Responsive Instructional Leadership

Theory of Improvement and Instructional Design; Connections to Internal Accountability; Collaboration and Shared Leadership; Effective Instructional Practices

Institute/Module 8: Leadership for School Improvement

Ensuring Continuous Progress toward Goals; Establishing and Sustaining Collaborative Learning; Assessing and Adapting the Continuous Improvement Plan

By completing the SAIL for Experienced Administrator program, Learners have the opportunity to earn 18 doctoral hours toward their Ed.D. or Ph.D. when enrolled at Concordia University Chicago (CUC). CUC is accredited through NCATE and is completely online. Doctoral degrees in Educational Leadership begin at $26,178.  Superintendent Endorsement Certification is also available.
